Traverse City Re-Do

Adam and I had a difficult time figuring out where to spend our 5th anniversary.  After a lot of thought and research we finally decided to go back to Traverse City.  Turns out that the scenery is just as beautiful in the fall as it is during spring when the cherry trees are white with blossoms.  Even though we had visited the same place just over three years ago when I was a couple months away from becoming a mom, the itinerary was quite different.  We enjoyed a lot of delicious food and sampled some beer at a couple breweries.  One morning was spent on the golf course.  We had only been out golfing once together in the past couple years so this opportunity was not to be missed.  It was a short, and absolutely beautiful, drive over to the Sleeping Bear Dunes and we took advantage of this as well.  I remembered a few years ago, wanting to do the dune climb, but my practical and protective husband thought that a dune climb was a big no-no for a 7 month pregnant chick.  We made the hike all the way up and enjoyed running back down.  Each trail we hiked was rewarded with spectacular views.  It really was quite amazing.

We had to pull over at a scenic overlook on our way out to the Jolly Pumpkin for dinner and caught these great pics.

Eventually, our hearts couldn't take missing the kiddos anymore.  We survived three whole days without them and couldn't wait to see them again.  The night we came home, we had a camp out in the living room so that we could all spend the night together.
