Claire's first Thanksgiving was quite nice. We all got up early on Thanksgiving morning and headed to the Bennefield residence for the day. Claire didn't have any trouble adjusting to the new environment and was happy being held by everyone. I manage to put together a plateful of food made with soy butter and soy milk and I even got to eat pie! Thankfully, my sisters made a pecan pie, which really helped me make it through a dairy and spice-free Thanksgiving. We headed home in time to get Claire in bed at a decent time and get things repacked to go to Tecumseh the following day.

Claire had fun playing at her Grandma and Grandpa Rajala's house. Happily, she didn't have any problems with another new place. She even got all of her naps in just like the day before. Adam's Uncle Kevin and Aunt Susan stayed an extra day so we could visit with them. It was so nice to see them. After they headed home we all sat down so Claire could take part in a treasured tradition....watching "Christmas Vacation".

Poor Chloe was pretty wiped out from all the festivities and two days of traveling. Here she is sleeping before she could even lay her little head down.
My most favorite part of the night happened right at the very beginning. The Bertrams announced that Melissa was working on a little playmate for Claire. We are all so excited about their little miracle that is on the way and pray that mom and baby continue to be healthy.
All in all it was a great few days. We had a wonderful time visiting with everyone and are looking forward to Christmas when we can see our family and friends again.

Our final day of Thanksgiving celebration was on Saturday. We invited the Allors, the Bertrams, and the Klemans over for a little get together. Once again, Claire decided it was okay for everyone to hold her. She was quite happy playing in Brian's lap until the moment everyone had been waiting for happened. She spit up on him. Everyone burst out laughing and Claire got scarred. She was fine once mommy got her in her arms.

Looks like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! What's funny is that Travis' family has the same "Christmas Vacation" tradition. They actually watch "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" at Thanksgiving and "Christmas Vacation" at Christmas. I can't stand either - but suffer through all the same... : )

We are still anxious to meet your beautiful daughter and can't wait until we get to see you guys again. Hope everything is going great!
